According to research, the best time to send out your email marketing is either on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Phew, that’s a relief! Now that we know that any day of the work week is the best day to send out our email campaigns, then all we need to find out is what time of day. But wait, weren’t we going to find out a specific day? Well, that all depends. Some research found that Tuesday’s are the most ideal while others found that Monday, Wednesday or Thursday are close behind it. So, we really can’t go wrong on what day we choose to send our emails out. Well, forward and onward to the best time of day.
According to Mailchimp’s findings, after tallying up their data from their datasheets, they found that 10AM had the most open rates. Which coincides with much of the other finding from the findings of the other email marketing platforms. Though, some stated that the peak of open rates happened from 4AM – 6AM; which could be because of early risers. While others indicated that their reports found the most open rates were from 9PM – 11PM; those that like to prepare their schedules before going to bed. So, with all these various findings, what IS the best time to send out your email marketing campaigns? The solution is quite clear and obvious. It depends on your target audience!
One thing is for sure, the highest peak for open rates happened at 10AM on Tuesdays, but only by a small marginal percentage of around 2% — depending on what study you read. This tells us that the best time to send your emails would be in the morning, before noon, preferably in the early work week. If you really want to maximize your open rate percentage, sending them in the very early morning wouldn’t be a bad idea. Again, this would allow the early risers, the go-getters of the workforce to open and read your emails. But, the surest way to maximize your open rates would be to test it for yourself.
